At COLENNY we collect as little data as possible. This document explains what information you give us, what we use it for, and what control you have over it.
1. Who we are
Colombians in New York (COLENNY) is a non-profit community project for the Colombian and Latino community in the New York area. You can reach the site owner at hola@colenny.nyc.
2. What data we collect
We only collect data you give us voluntarily through a form:
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Service applications: name, business, category, phone, email and, optionally, neighborhood and address.
We do not collect browsing data, we do not use analytics, and we do not build usage profiles.
3. Where it is stored
The site is currently static and has no server of its own: the data you type into the forms is stored in your own browser's local storage and is not transmitted to any server of ours or of a third party.
This means it is deleted if you clear your browser data, and it is not available from another device. It also means that filling in a form does not, on its own, send us anything.
The free website request reaches us over WhatsApp: once you finish the form we show you a button that opens a pre-written message with your details, and we only receive it when you send it. From that point on the conversation is also governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy, in addition to ours.
If we connect the forms to an external service in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.
4. Third-party services
The site links to external platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp and partner sites). When you follow those links you leave COLENNY and become subject to each platform's own privacy policy.
When the Instagram feed is enabled, images are fetched while the site is being generated; your browser does not talk to Meta when you visit the page.
5. Cookies
COLENNY does not set first-party or third-party cookies, and does not use advertising trackers.
6. Your rights
Because form data stays in your browser, you can delete it at any time by clearing the site's data from your browser settings.
If you have written to us by email or WhatsApp and want that conversation deleted, ask us at hola@colenny.nyc and we will do it.
